Jennifer Morrison Dr. Allison Cameron
Jennifer Morrison recently was nominated for a 2008 WIN Award (Women's Image Network) for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her work on HOUSE. She recently wrapped the feature film "Warrior," which centers on the world of mixed martial arts, for director Gavin O'Conner opposite Nick Nolte and Joel Egerton. She also can be seen in J.J. Abrams' film "Star Trek" in which she played the role of Winona Kirk, Captain Kirk's mother.
Morrison appeared in the 20th Century Fox feature film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," opposite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie; the heartwarming "Surviving Christmas" starring Ben Affleck and Christina Applegate; and the independent film "Flourish," which she produced and starred. Her film credits include "Grind," "Urban Legends: Final Cut" and the Kevin Bacon thriller "Stir of Echoes."
On television, Morrison starred in the cable feature "The Murder of Princess Diana," in which she played a U.S. journalist who witnessed the car crash that killed Princess Diana. The film aired on the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death and was cut with real-life footage of the princess. Her television credits include a recurring role on "Dawson's Creek" and appearances on "Any Day Now" and "The Chronicle."
Now living in Los Angeles, Morrison is originally from Chicago, where she studied with the celebrated Steppenwolf Theatre Company and earned a degree in theater from Loyola University.
As a member of Dr. House's diagnostic group at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, Dr. Allison Cameron often served as the emotional heart of the team, in contrast to House's cold, cerebral approach to solving medical mysteries. Her crusading desire to help people crossed over into her personal life: she married a man diagnosed with terminal cancer, and she even developed feelings for hyper-dysfunctional House.
After three years, Cameron quit the team to run the hospital's emergency room, but she was drawn back to House and his compelling cases. She began a relationship with Dr. Robert Chase, a fellow team member, ultimately marrying him.
Cameron's righteousness was tested by the case of a visiting genocidal dictator. Though she professed to not care if he died, when Chase actually helped facilitate the tyrant's death, she was shocked and left both Chase and the hospital, alleging House had ruined Chase by dissolving his ability to separate right from wrong.
